resorts, Magaluf, Mallorca
Magaluf, Spain

A real ‘fun in the sun’ resort that is popular with everyone looking for great nightlife. Known as a ‘boisterous’ resort Magaluf is actually loved by families too, not surprisingly because of the fabulous wide beach and the close proximity to 2 of the best water-parks on Majorca.

Magaluf is a large resort that stretches alongside the beach and is lined with shops, bars and well priced eateries. It’s great place for a ‘first time’ abroad as known brands of fast food and beers plus the popular British Brekky make it feel quite homely!

If you’re young and single then you’ll love the bars and clubs where you can have a great time right through to the early hours – but it would be a shame to miss the beachlife too.

In winter the young disappear and the older generations take over. Magaluf is one of the few resorts that still has a ‘bit of life’ about it in the ‘off season’ and as it butts up against Palma Nova and is within easy reach of Palma City there are enough options for a winter break.

Magaluf Beach:

A wide sweep of golden sand that is lined by cafe bars and beach bars. The centre of the beach is backed by a wide promenade whilst the two ends peter out into rocky headlands. The sea is clean and shallow and there’s all the facilities holidaymakers need.

Nightlife:

More bars than you could shake a stick at! Add to that the famous BCM nightclub with its guest DJ’s and you can see why the resort is loved by Stag ‘n’ Hen parties. However those over 30 can still find plenty of places to go that have a more laid back feel and there are bars that cater for kids. So in short – something for everyone!

Who goes there:

18-30’s (it's almost a right of passage!), also families and older couples who want a lively time. It’s quieter in early and late summer if you don’t fancy being crowded out by groups of young people, or just avoid the ‘strip’ where most of the ‘late night bars’ are situated.

Accommodation:

A good range of accommodation from 4* hotels through to hostels and a wide range of self-catering accommodation.

What to do:

  • If you’re young you’ve got to visit BNC at least once! With room for over 4000 and 3 dance floors it’s a must. Check out which of the famous DJ’s is there when you’re on holiday on their website: http://www.bcm-planetdance.com
  • Have a great day out at either of the two water parks which are conveniently across the road from each other! Aqualand and Western Water Park are both within walking distance of the resort.
  • If you have the ‘need for speed’ then check out the kart track next to Aqualandia...just don’t do it when you have a hangover!
  • The Pirate Show is a complete legend on Majorca – operating for over 20 years it has a family and an adult show that runs throughout the summer – just make sure you take the kids to the right one! Check out the thrills awaiting you on their website: http://www.piratesadventure.com/show/index.htm

Psst! Did you know there’s an actual ‘worker of the year’ award that is handed out at the Workers Oscar Ceremony at the end of the season? So who knows you may be served your beer by a future winner!
