Blue Gorge (Gorg Blau) - See Map
East - Escorca, Mallorca

A spectacular drive along the C170 takes you from Soller to Pollenca (or vice versa) through the Blue Gorge and past its beautiful reservoirs with its well planned picnic spots.

Here you can pick up hiking trails which will take you around the reservoirs or down towards Soller or Sa Calobra. It is quite common for hikers to get the bus from Soller to the stop at the first reservoir and hike down.

If you prefer a less energetic visit then stop off for a wander around, a look at the wild donkeys that inhabit the area and a picnic. There are tables and toilets facilities - so you can have great day out here.

If you carry on along the road (from Soller) you will come to Lluc which is the site of a vast monastry... combine a vist to these two sites and you'll take in the magnificent mountains Puig Major (1445 metres/4741 feet and Massanella (1,352 metres/4436 feet) which are the highest mountains on the island.

This is also the road that you take for Sa Calobra...a beach at the end of a stunning 'torrent'
